There are many benefits to having a creator account that we will talk about once we have shown you how to transform your Instagram account from personal to creator.
First, go to Instagram.com or open the app and go through the sign-up process.
Unlike businesses, you don’t need to set up a Facebook page for a creator account. However, if you want to link your Facebook page to your account, you cannot claim it.
To get started, go to your profile and click on the hamburger icon in the top right corner.
In the following menu, click on “Account.”
Then click “Switch to Professional Account.”
Then you can choose whether you want a creator account or a professional account.
You can choose this, but the creator account is designed specifically for influencers.
Then Instagram asks you to choose which Instagram category you belong to as the creator.
Finally, you will be asked to change. And you’re done!

Instagram Bio For Blogger
Your Instagram bio and profile picture is fundamental.
When someone comes to your Instagram page, they look at a few important things before deciding whether or not to follow you.
First of all, they look at your profile picture and your bio. On most mobile devices, your bio and profile photo takes up most of the space. It’s called “above the separator line” in web design and refers to the user’s content before scrolling.
See how the user can only see the highlights of my story, my profile picture, my cinema, and three Instagram photos? It doesn’t matter if I have a grid full of the best photos in the world because if my bio doesn’t grab their attention, they won’t scroll down to see the rest of my content.

Since your Instagram becomes your blog, you won’t drive people to a post longer than 500 words. Instead, your Instagram account will serve as the main focal point!
What does it mean?
Well, you need to make sure that your Instagram feed is filled with high-quality photos and a lot of engagement (especially if you want to work with brands).
And entirely, I don’t mean to say that you write once or twice a week.
If your Instagram serves as the primary platform, you should post it at least every day (including stories and posts).
I also recommend that you get some critical photography gear for your Instagram to take those beautiful photos, but you can also take some great pictures for Instagram with your iPhone if you are on a budget.

Captions invite your audience to look beyond the beautiful photo you just posted.
Pictures are worth 1,000 words, but a photo with a well-thought-out caption is worth 10,000 words.
Your captions help your audience understand why they should be interested. For example, why wouldn’t they care if you sent a photo of your latte?
There are millions of latte photos on Instagram, and the way you want to differentiate your latte photo (or photo of your dog or outfit) is to create a compelling slogan with some call to action. (CTA).
A CTA is something that asks the user to take some action, whether it’s to double-click the heart button (and like your post), click the link in your theater, or watch your story!
Having a solid caption helps you get your audience to take action on your CTA.
When creating your legend, ask yourself a few critical questions:
- What is my CTA? What is the resulting goal of this photo?
- How do I write a story that leads the user to CTA?
- How can I relate this legend to my audience and make them like it?
Let’s look at the photo below. I could have written captions on something like “doing work today!” or used peace sign emojis.

Build Community on Instagram Blogging
Your next step is to build a community and increase your engagement with your new blog on Instagram! Start by interacting with other accounts that you follow and accounts that you think will have your content.
How do you find the people who you think want your content?
This one is easy! Make a list of around five significant influencers in your niche. Then, see who’s following them and start interacting with them!
Chances are if someone is following an influencer in your niche, it’s because they are interested in that particular topic, which increases the chances that they are also interested in what you post!
You can attract the reach of the people by leaving meaningful comments on their photos and liking their posts.
When you leave comments on other people’s content, they are more likely to return the favor in the future!
Tip: Many bloggers fall into the trap of commenting on podcasts to expand their community, but they don’t work – avoid them as much as possible.
Instagram Hashtags Tips for Blogging
You will also find hashtags relevant to your account! However, general hashtags like “#love” or “#follow” are incredibly generic and not very useful.
They don’t target specific demographics and don’t drive targeted traffic to your account.

Instagram is a competitive platform, and you want to make sure the photos (and videos) you post are in high resolution.
Some phones can produce perfect photos, and many bloggers can use their phones to take the perfect shot.
However, my phone doesn’t take good photos, so I like to use a camera to create all of my content.

Start Blogging with Other Instagram Features
In addition to regular posts, Instagram has other features that bloggers can use to grow their accounts, such as Instagram Stories, Reels, Instagram T.V., and Live. So, in addition to your regular posts, be sure to experiment with these other features as well.
Pro tip: Don’t forget to organize your most famous stories by adding them to your story highlight on your profile so that followers can see them beyond their 24-hour lifespan!

Blogging through Instagram certainly has its benefits. No need to worry about running a website or creating 1000+ word articles!
Plus, it’s easy to take great photos of yourself and yourself these days, which means you can get started without needing to:
- a photographer
- all expensive equipment (although we will discuss some additional equipment for taking your photos later)

Before we directly discuss how to start a blog on Instagram, let’s talk about some of the disadvantages.
The disadvantages of blogging on Instagram
This article would not be complete if we did not discuss the disadvantages of starting your blog on Instagram.
First of all, your analysis is limited to what Instagram decides to deliver to you, which is not as detailed as Google Analytics or other analytics platforms.
One of the benefits of having a standalone blog/web page is that you can use your analytics for diving into what your audience likes, dislikes and starts A / B testing different things to increase your traffic.
While not impossible with Instagram Insights, it is certainly much more limited.
Then you do not own your content on Instagram (technically).
If Instagram were to close tomorrow, everything you worked for would be gone. Your account may also be hacked, and you may lose everything.
However, the same can happen with your site if it should be hacked.
The only difference is that you can back it up with your site and restore it if you need to.
You cannot back up your Instagram. So if it were to be hacked and deleted, it would be gone for good.
